I love the wonderful aromatic smells of Fall. Sometimes just closing our eyes and taking in all there is to "smell" might awaken that special something which will trigger a memory. Fall is a time to be thankful... Here at Blumenflor we are very thankful for a blessed year.
Blumenflor sits on 12 acres of land. We have cattle grazing in the back fenced in part, free range chickens, honeybees and just simple nature all around us. We are organic and see the benefits on a daily basis. Sometimes being organic means pulling weeds instead of spraying. Benefits- exercise! But is it all worth the effort? I have my heart to heart talks with God and lately I was asking him to show me some little sign to carry on. Monarch Butterflies ... They have been coming to roost here these past few days on their way south. Look up these incredible creatures and the story behind their migration! We were given this special gift and feel blessed! So if you plant it , ... The blessings will come!
Our sign out by the highway frontage is a real "diy" effort. It actually reflects the personality of Blumenflor... It has encouraged the curious gardeners to take that turn off and see what lies at the end of the road. May all who visit Blumenflor receive a blessing.
Today Blumenflor is reflecting back on the past two years. We have had a wonderful response in this community of gardeners. We are grateful for every new day and the chance to talk and share gardening!
In the mornings when the doors to the greenhouse are opened and the fresh air is let in, a prayer is also brought with anticipation. "Dear Lord... Whom will you send today?" We truly believe every customer is heaven sent! What stories we have already gathered! Our best "customers" are the children... they open our eyes to the beauty and simplicity of nature. May we garden with the hearts of children and take the time to smell the flowers!
I grew up in a family of gardeners. The love of flowers, growing vegetables, and working outdoors runs deep in my veins. College gave me the horticultural backbone to my career as a Commercial Floriculturist. Blumenflor has its challenges but I am grateful that I have God as my partner in this adventure. I love sharing my experiences through this blog... enjoy!
