Summer is here with three digit temperatures! Spring always flies by at a Garden Center.
We are now finally catching our breaths and enjoying our lazy summer days. Watering is a major thing on our agenda and when it rains we are truly blessed. Hope y'all are into rainwater harvesting somehow. It is worth every drop that you can save. Tried something in our trial garden on one end... planted three different types of tomatoes using a compost manure . Planted Borage, Sage, Basil, Onions and Marigolds around the Tomatoes to deter the bugs. Topped it off with a cypress mulch and sat back to see what would happen. Wonderful healthy growing plants. We did pull off two big lime green striped caterpillars (tomato horn worms), they got squished! Our free range chickens take care of most of the bugs, so far they have left the ripening fruit alone. We have no problems with the rabbits Comments are closed.
